Post-Maintenance Tips for Semi-Trailers

Our semi-trailer factory has put together some practical post-maintenance methods. Taking good care of your semi-trailer is key to extending its service life and cutting down on engine issues. Neglecting maintenance often leads to frequent breakdowns and a shorter working life. Here’s a quick run-through of what we recommend:

●Clean and lubricate all parts according to the lubrication chart.

●Check and adjust the clearance between brake pads and drums on all wheels.

●Inspect brake and hydraulic system pipelines for leaks, and make sure connecting hoses are in good condition.

●Look for loose, damaged, or poorly insulated electrical wiring.

●Examine all components of the fifth wheel coupling and steering gear to ensure they’re intact.

●Check if the steering rod connections are loose and if this affects tire alignment; adjust the steering rod system if needed.

●Verify that all suspension parts are in good shape.

●Check tires for excessive or abnormal wear, proper pressure, and correct valve positioning.

●Clean all parts and check for paint chipping, rust, or dirt.

●Inspect power unit components, clean the oil tank and valves, check oil quality, and replace oil when necessary.
